I would just like to let everyone know that the latest CD from Brazilian singer Milton Nascimento, Pieta, is now available from Savoy Records. The CD, which was released this past Tuesday, features guest musicians such as Eumir Deodato, Maria Rita, Marina Machado, Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheny. For more information about Milton Nascimento, check out www.Savoyjazz.com.

So I’m really getting into World Music these days. And I found this new artist on MySpace, and I’m really digging his World-amalgamated with HipHop and a touch of Flamenco guitar. The artist’s name is Eric Kamen.

And I found him at www.myspace.com/erickamen

Very groovy fusion!
B-)

Hi there! I am starting this message because I really want to hear about new up and coming world fusion/new age/international artists that people find out about. I love to be in the forefront of music and find the latest and greatest first. So, if you know of anyone, post it here.

I guess I'll start out with my latest find. The CD is called "Native Unit" and the artist is Eric Kamen and I just love this instrumental album. There is nothing else like it out there right now. I guess Eric Kamen has already been a hip-hop/R&B producer and you can definitely tell with the types of beats used on many of the tracks and the sound of the CD. So far my favorite song is called "Moshi Moshi" because of the percussion and the beautiful Spanish guitar sound. Just great to chill to while imagining you are somewhere far away and exotic.

I know you can listen to this song and others, or find out more info. about Eric at:
www.nativeunit.com
www.myspace.com/erickamen

And I think the CD goes on sale today (Feb. 14th) so check it out at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ALMSR2/ (that's where I got it) And I've also seen it on iTunes and CDbaby (http://cdbaby.com/cd/nativeunit).

If you like it, spread the word, because independent artists need us to help them share their music.

Well, I hope you will start posting replies to this and telling me all about your favorite new artists or maybe even what you think about Eric Kamen. Can't wait to hear!

Not sure if anyone is a fan in here, by in case you missed it, Salif Keita recently put out a new record that has been generating a lot of press. Billboard called it "… one of the top world music releases of 2006" and the New York Times said “..Keita’s voice leaps out of every song with tender urgency…”. There is some music on this site (http://www.giantstep.net/releases/1026). I believe he is touring as well. Good to see a world artist making some headway against the Chili Peppers and Idol contestants of the world.

Sede Do Peixe DVD ~ Milton Nascimento
(BUY AT www.amazon.com)

Milton Nascimento's DVD, "SEDE DO PEIXE," promotes world peace through the natural resource of music. This music helps to extinguish fires from world wars. ...Clube da Esquina ignites smiles and humanity, it's another movement rooted in love. The comments about "SEDE DO PEIXE," here at Amazon.com, reveal that this DVD exudes so much beauty, so just put your arms around the DVD and bring it to your home. Promote peace, and play Milton's music loud! When I turn off Milton's music, before leaving my home, my elder neighbors complain, sigh, and then comment: "Oh,..., you're leaving, and you've turned off the music!" Milton's music synergizes people's minds and hearts.

IT'S ME AGAIN, FROM PHILLY (USA)
TANGE LOVES MILTON!

This is 196?, and this short performance video is a gem. I hope it's not a bootleg, or otherwise illegal, but Clube da Esquinha fans will be ecstatic!

Great music is great music. Richard Bona is definitely the personification of great music. Jazz, Afro beat, World Music etc. whatever fans, critics or fellow musicians want to label Richard Bonas music as, there is not doubt that it is great music. Tiki, his new album that was just released in August, is an album that I can listen whether in the car or at my internship at UMGD. I highly recommend this album to any person who loves music. To take a listen take a look at his myspace page http://www.myspace.com/richardbona

Hello! “Home With You” was recently released off of Karma Knows, which is getting some great airplay around the nation! Hopefully it is playing on a station near you!

"Home With You" is a genuine tribute that speaks to the heart of most of us who desire to be "home" with the ones we love, both in our hearts and our actual homes. "I wrote the lyrics and melody on the train from Manhattan to Boston in the Summer of 2004. It’s a long ride (4.5 hours) and I was thinking of my cousin Sean and his Dad (my Godfather).

Sean had tripped his Dad mistakenly when he was 7 and his Dad passed away 2 days later. He’s been living with that for 35+ years now, and "Home With You" is my tribute to them. It’s our hope that when people hear the song, they can be “home” with the ones they love whether or not they are still in this world, or another."

The hope for “Home With You” is to uplift the spirit of everyone who hears it and comfort the ears of those that wish to be home with the ones they love, in whatever aspect that means to them.

Please take a few minutes to listen to “Home With You” at our site www.homewithyousong.com!!

If you like that, please add us to MySpace (www.myspace.com/boz), join Boz’s bandwagon (www.bozmusic.com), and visit http://cdbaby.com/cd/boz to buy Karma Knows!!
