About People in Action

Welcome to People in Action, a web guide to carefully selected and commented resources on ecology, solidarity, human rights, peace, NGOs... and about the countless people who in the world are trying to change a little the things in a positive direction.

There are millions of voluntary workers, etc., all over the world, and this web guide is another initiative to facilitate information and cooperation in a great variety of fields. Mainly, in the reformist and new alternatives way.

The People in Action Web Guide was initiated on the Internet in September of 1996 with two versions, in English and Spanish. The Message Board opened in March of 1997, and the Shopping Guide was added in September of 2000.

Speed of use is one of the priorities. The quality web server, and a simple design with optimized code, make web guide pages load fast.

Click where you wish and... good luck!

(For greater comfort, you may include the home page in the bookmarks or favorites menu).

Mail to People in Action

If you wish to send an email to the People in Action web guide, you may do it with the following form.

Another possibility, usually more useful than sending an email message from here, is to publish a message on a suitable page of the Message Board, where much more people interested in the same topic -in addition to the People in Action web guide- will be able to read and reply it.

If an email sent from this form and its reply can be helpful also for other people, in this case both may be published by People in Action on the message board, with name but without address. Naturally, unless the author of the message -who will be informed- requests any other option, like removing his/her name or message, or on the contrary publishing also an address there in order to receive directly more answers from readers.

Before writing either an email here or a message on the message board, please search for links and messages related to the subject of your interest. Every page of links on this web guide is associated with a message page about the same topic.

How to Support People in Action

Collaborators of the Message Board

If you enjoy helping people and have knowledge about one or several of the many topics included in this web guide, you may support the work of People in Action by helping some of the people who ask for information on the Message Board. As said before, every page of links on this web guide is associated with a message page about the same topic.

If you want to keep your email address confidential, you can register for a free account as a collaborator of the message board. In this way, your email address will be shown only in private messages sent by you, to facilitate replies by email, and not in any other case. Collaborators' email addresses will not be disclosed without their express permission.

As well, if they wish, collaborators can receive notifications by email, for example when new messages or replies are posted on pages where they have messages.

Thank you very much for helping the people.

Donations to People in Action

Donations are a very important way to support the work of People in Action. From the Donations page you can help with $5 or other amounts. There are many available forms of payment and international currencies, and you can choose the most convenient for you.

It's because of the kind donations from people like you that this free information service for volunteers and people of goodwill is possible since 1996.

Thank you very much for your support.

Links to People in Action

If you've found People in Action useful, please link to it from your website or from email messages so that others can benefit.

Please understand that this web guide cannot participate in link exchange schemes, given that all links are selected only according to their usefulness and interest, without taking into account whether they also link to People in Action or not.

In the same spirit, if you think that a link to People in Action can be useful or interesting for your friends or readers, this kind support from your email or website is naturally very welcome.

To include a link on email messages, you may copy and paste for example the following lines:
