Are Algae the Future of Energy & Biodiesel?

Here's an interesting editorial on oil & energy from algae ( http://www.oilgae.com/ref/oth/oilgae_editorial.html ). The editorial is essentially questioning why more focus and research dollars are not being spent on deriving oil, biodiesel and ethanol from algae...

It is interesting because the article states that algae appear to be the most biofuels feedstock, and is far more productive in terms of yield than palm or soy - in fact it says

algae as feedstock are over 100 times more productive than soy! From the info presented, it
appears that algae present the most realistic chance of being able to completely replace petro-fuels with biofuels. It is also interesting to note that the fossil oil we are using today was formed mainly from algae!

An insightful article for all those interested in suatainable alternative and renewable energy.

Hi there,

I am looking to get a solid feel for the renewable markert growth, and if Obama's stimulas plan is beeing seein the market. I've barely noticed a pickup in activity (especially wind)- seems like capital markets are still stalled, which is where most of the funds need to come from. Solar is coming back a bit, but still, the residential and commercial users in most cases pay for it. Any good sites?

Hello Everyone,

My name is Tyler, and I reside and work in Madison, WI. I recently formed a company with two friends with the goal of building a comprehensive web-based business network and sales platform for the renewable energy industry, www.HelpMarco.com.

We have been running the beta (test) version of the site for about 4 months, and about 60 companies in the Great Lakes area comprising manufacturers, distributors, and professional installers of renewable energy systems have participated thus far.

The way the site works for a distributor is very straightforward:

1. Register
2. Post your product line with all relevant information
3. Receive orders and payment through the HelpMarco.com payment service.

If you don't already have an e-commerce solution, or would simply like access to sell to a growing network of Renewable Energy professionals, check out www.HelpMarco.com!

If you want to check out the site, its www.HelpMarco.com, and if you have any questions feel free to contact us at customersupport@helpmarco.com, or give us a call at 608-448-3032. All feedback is welcome!

Thanks,
The HelpMarco Team
