Todays society there is a great many horrors that people are blind to. As a youth today in America, T.V. and radio show depictions of matarilism and importans on physically beauty and money and sex. They show no importance to character, culture, self-esteem. I feel that military studies show how to subdue and overtake a people's mind and ideas which in todays market is implemented by the government and big corporations. If you see what they sell, they sell clothing, (medical)Drugs, beer, porn, sexism. It's all for capital that exploits the people's weakness. The weaker the person, the lower the self-esteem, the less beauty someone sees within and the less they resist. You want the latest fashion so you can cover yourself up to feel more beautiful and fit in. The news & media are all owned by big corperations, and one sided ideas are given and sold to the masses. And they sell their ideas so great. Any government official who is elected must have a big corporate sponser, or they have to be rich to be elected, which means the (consumer)voter has no real choice in who they elect. There is no real freedom of speech, no real power to the people as the founding fathers intended of this country. And worst of all, the elites ideas get spread through the earth with satilelites and radio waves and now the internet. Also we go to other countries and take over foreign oils, metals and agraculture. Now, we have made a world that hates us, and wants their freedom from our imperilism. Most foreigners just want us off their lands, but Big Corporate America will not let go of the capital. And in my country we are so busy speaking of war and money and the latest movie or sport issue that we miss what is important. We place money and earning over people and the environment. My country has the highest rape statistics out of all the industrialized countries, but woman are not considered important. Worst of all, studies show that about 25% rape cases are not reported, and in some rare cases some communties show a 95% unreported rape rate. Woman are shown as a lesser lower human in are movies and ads. Porn sells, and people are weak and complacent and they will buy it all up. Studies show that a woman could not be president in this country because people would not elect a woman at such a high office. Some complacent people say that, that is not so bad because woman can hold a high important job or place in society. Which is true but, equality is equality and the truth is the truth. And many woman are beaten by their boyfriends, lovers, husbands. Also sex and male promiscuouty is sold with mania. In the black community this especially sold, everyone wants to be a 'player'. But the sad thing is, today the leading cause of death for African-american males is AIDS, not cancer, not violence, not drug use but AIDS. Remember the weaker the person is, the easier it is to sell ideas or products to. Yet, the mainstream news rarley reports or does such reports at all on these issues. Woman should realize that they are powerful and beautiful and should grow up to be physically and mentally strong. Blacks have been inslaved and continue to be to this day with crack, poverty, bad images. Latin or native americans have had everything taken from them, land, gold, culture, language. The mexican government and many Latin American governments are puppets to the U.S. The environment is placed on lower priority than money. California has paid dearly for with higher gas and water prices for their highly-regulated environmental laws. We slaughter trees and woods and beaches. As long as we don't live next to those dumps we are okay, but it still effects us in other ways. Plants and animals die off and effect our ecosystem. But as an American youth I am told that the government is for me, because I get paid a decent wage and live a pretty good life, hell I am the top of the food chain, but the reality is I am not. And now the FCC and the BUSHwacked senate is getting more restricted with our rights. Fighting wars in my name, and lying to me about weapons of mass destruction, but the reality it is for the oil. Did you know the U.S. did not have problems with current Cuban government until they nationalized all the oils and took what belonged to them back from the U.S. Now they are seen as an enemy. I don't want to live in a military government, I love most of my freedoms, but we are being highjacked and we need to stop it! Free your mind. Know you are strong and beautiful. We all tend to lie to ourselves so the world fits are own created views. But corporations control those views now. Stop lying to yourself and don't believe anyone elses lies. Free your mind, and fly. Power to the people. May god be with us all, and lets hope to make a peaceful world.

Hello everyone,

To achieve social change we need tools to represent, present and disseminate the global view. Ways to conjoin and balance individual-group; mechanistic-humanistic.

We need an agreed conceptual currency, a social place, a shared framework upon which to argue, agree to differ and solve problems. A tool taught universally to ALL children, complementing the 3Rs: a tool that supports 21st century methods of reasoning and information literacy.

I wondered if the site below may prove a unique solidarity place?

'h2cm' publicises a health and social care model -

** with much wider and universal applications **

- originally created in the UK by Brian E Hodges:

Hodges' Health Career - Care Domains - Model [h2cm]

http://www.p-jones.demon.co.uk/

h2cm can help map health, social care and other issues, problems AND solutions, taking a situated
and multi-contextual view across four knowledge domains:

* Interpersonal;
* Sociological;
* Empirical;
* Political (Autonomy).

Our links pages cover each care domain with content of interest to all 'greens'.

For example - Sociological domain links:

http://www.p-jones.demon.co.uk/links3.htm

Political:

http://www.p-jones.demon.co.uk/linksIV.htm

(inc. human rights, citizenry, poverty/development, community informatics.. )

Best wishes to everyone...

I'm a social activist from Vancouver, Canada, doing graduate studies in interactive arts and technology at Simon Fraser University. My area of research is the use of mobile phones by activists at large-scale social actions - how and why mobile phones are used, what features are used, what problems are encountered, etc.

I hope to use my research not just for academic reasons but also to help make communications at social actions more effective.

I've developed a short (5-10 minutes) web-based questionnaire about this issue. The questionnaire is complete anonymous - I don't keep track of ip addresses, ask for email addresses or names, and all raw data will be destroyed in 12 months time.

If you'd like to participate, you'll find the questionnaire at http://www.sfu.ca/~tlavende/survey/mobile.html. The first page is a standard university form explaining the purpose of the survey and your rights as a participant. Clicking the button at the bottom of the screen takes you to the actual questionnaire. The questionnaire will be available until the end of May.

Again, it's anonymous and your participation would be greatly appreciated. When I've analyzed the results in early summer, I'd be happy to share them with anyone interested.

I welcome suggestions as to how to get the word out about this survey or where I could go for more information and/or anecdotes about peoples' experiences with using mobile phones in social actions.

Again, you'll find the questionnaire at http://www.sfu.ca/~tlavende/survey/mobile.html

thanks for your time.

Hi,
I'm the head of a social service transpersonal organization - we are looking for enthusastic consultants that have some innovative ideas about social programs we could implement based on humanist/existential/transpersonal philosophies. Please email daseinpbc@yahoo.com if you think you could help out. Even at a distance you can make a difference with us. Dasein, Inc. is a not-for-profit humanitarian organization governed by a Board of Directors thinking globally but acting locally. It is our goal to make persons more productive members of society. We believe the best way to make persons more productive members of society is to give them purpose, a wider sense of who they are, and a better understanding of their connectedness to others. For these purposes, transpersonal and humanist informed programs seem best that emphasize self-actualization, self-fufillment, and self-realization. Specifically, we wish to serve the citizens of Palm Beach County by implementing innovative programs centered around transpersonal and humanist philosophies that emphasize the health of all the different parts of our being. Our transpersonal programs will have many dimensions including artistic, spiritual, educational, and cultural programs. This integrated approach fosters community and connectedness because it focuses on shared commonalities along with our wonderful differences. This is the backbone of our program because it enables a more caring, socially responsible individual thus one that is more productive. We understand this approach is a big undertaking. However, we wish to open up a dialog among community groups and resources that we believe will support us in our efforts.

Hello! My name is Lance Corporal David C. Hahn with the United States Marine corps. I am interested in trying a new approach to human rights. The Human Defence Network is an organization that protects human rights on a more personal level. HDN forms small groups accross the United States in order to work as a small team. HDN also realizes that human rights can be violated on a telepic level. For more information please email me at:Uranight@hotmail.com
